SUCCEED THROUGH SERVICE®

When it comes to laying a foundation for success for at-risk youth, The Ritz-Carlton® has created an award-winning blueprint that is elevating the potential for young people across the United States and around the world. Through Succeed Through Service our employees mentor students in disadvantaged communities to imagine futures not previously envisioned, understand the value of giving back to their community, and learn valuable life skills that will help them forge a path of success. Developed in partnership with America’s Promise Alliance Offsite Link, this hands-on youth engagement curriculum brings students to our hotels and takes our employees into the classrooms to share the importance of social skills (eye-contact, a great smile and a firm handshake); healthy eating habits and how to safely handle food; group presentation skills; and the value of teamwork and collaboration.

Since the launch in 2009, Succeed Through Service has benefited over 15,000 students. It is our hope that by sharing our Succeed Through Service toolkit on an open source, non-proprietary basis, we will inspire others to get involved in helping young students flourish, complete their education and have a successful and productive life.

“We thank you so much because you’re not only investing in kids, you are investing in the future of our country and the other countries where you are located.”

“I learned from you why I should follow my passion. You taught me to work hard and how to be successful. I took away your Ritz-Carlton core values and advice to better and further my life. I appreciate all the time and advice that my mentors give to me.”

“The Succeed Through Service program has been such a wonderful experience! From table manners to protecting the environment to dressing for success — it’s all made a huge impression on the students and opened their eyes to a new world. Most importantly, it has instilled in all of them a sense of confidence and the drive to keep working hard in school in order to be a successful career person one day.”
