Climate
The weather in Bali is generally sunny all year around with the temperature ranging from 23 - 27 degree Celsius (74 to 88 degree Fahrenheit) during the day to 24 - 27 degree Celsius at night.
Clothing
- Cotton or lightweight clothing is suitable for daywear
- Proper evening attire is recommended when dining in restaurants
- Light cotton, viscose or silk clothes are most comfortable to wear in the this warm climate (linen is usually too heavy)
- Swimming attire or shorts or tops that do not cover the shoulders should not be worn outside the hotel areas. Sloppy or untidy clothing should also be avoided, because clothing is an indicator of social status and you will be treated much better if you are dressed cleanly and modestly.
Visas
Western Europeans, Australians, Canadians do not need a visa, or rather they get the visa on arrival (valid for a stay up to 30 days). This is very uncomplicated - difficulties can only arise if you have no return ticket (then you must demonstrate that you have sufficient means, i.e. at least US$1,000 for paying for your stay in Bali and the outbound flight). If you can prove that there is no problem you will get entry permit.
Please check with your Indonesian embassy.
Health Requirements
In general, no special vaccinations are required for traveling to Bali; except if you happen to come from a yellow fever area, then a certificate for a vaccination against this disease is required upon entry. However tetanus, polio, and hepatitis vaccinations are recommended nevertheless for any travel in Asia.

We do not recommended self-driving in Indonesia unless you are really familiar with road and traffic conditions in South East Asian countries and with driving on the left side.
