Nu Suandokmai is a Thai native who comes to Padi from his renowned eponymous establishment, Nu’s Thai, in Australia where he was acclaimed for being one of the best Thai chefs in the country.

In 1998, Nu left his chef’s hat and apron behind in his mother’s kitchen in the old capital of Ayuttaya just north of Bangkok in Central Thailand. He arrived in Australia with all his authentic recipes to head up one of the countries leading Thai restaurants, Star of Siam.

After ten years of cheffing for others, his idea to raise the standard of Thai food in South Australia came about with the opening his own establishment, Nu’s Thai, which garnered him two out of three stars in Mietta’s Best Australian Restaurants and a host of excellent reviews.
