Fall /Winter
Next door to The Ritz-Carlton, NBA season begins in mid-fall for the Charlotte Bobcats, among many other sports events and gatherings at the popular arena. Arts and performance seasons also begin at the Blumenthal and other performing arts venues, many in walking distance of The Ritz-Carlton. Farther afield, stylish & arts-oriented Asheville beckons, as do the brilliantly-hued leaves of North Carolina as they change colors during the autumn months. November and December are a magical time in Charlotte, as some of the nation’s most beautiful holiday decorations are displayed throughout the city. Charlotte’s famed Thanksgiving Parade passes right by The Ritz-Carlton and heralds the holiday season in a memorable way; it is one of the largest parades presented in the United States each year. After the start of the year, the region continues to beckon, as magical indoor venues like Discovery Place provide fascinating indoor entertainment for the young and young-at heart, while the state’s ski and snowboard resorts also await outdoor enthusiasts visiting North Carolina.
