In October 2010, The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai commenced an exciting expansion project that will add new rooms, suites, swimming pools, restaurant concepts and 1,160 square meters of meeting space, including a grand ballroom. This expansion is due to be completed by first quarter 2013 and will host 148 rooms and suites for our guests to bask in redefined comfort.
The expansion itself will consist of an adjacent wing which will house additional rooms over 6 floors and will be connected to our existing 138-room resort.
The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai continues to welcome guests throughout the entire expansion development, and the only areas closed are the La Baie restaurant, the Spa Pool, and part of our landscaped gardens. The new wing is located at the far end of the resort and consequently far away from our existing Guest Rooms, Spa, Club Lounge and Swimming Pools. We therefore project a minimal disturbance throughout the expansion project, to our guests and their holiday experience.
Timeline & latest developments:
As of September 2012
The foundation work at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai is complete, with the exterior façade fully painted and in line with the existing building color scheme. Furniture is now being placed in a majority of the rooms as well as dimly lit lights which offer a real sense of place to the expansion. Additionally, the landscaping of the gardens, tiling of the swimming pools and our new tented exterior restaurant; are close to completion with minor internal renovations to proceed with. The banqueting space is installed with AV equipment and marble work is underway. The Spa pools and Hamam rooms are in the final stages and there are no cranes or scaffolding left on property.
