Indulge the child who grew up on Jacques Cousteau's adventures aboard Calypso with grown up eco-adventures with Ambassadors of the Environment by Jean-Michel Cousteau. Popular programs for adults include:
Mangrove Kayak
Mangroves are the forests of the sea. In this natural jungle-gym, strange roots extend into the water providing a nursery for reef creatures and marine birds. As we travel in double kayaks in shallow protected waters we experience one of the strangest gardens on the planet - the world of the upside-down jellyfish, relatives of corals.
Night Snorkel
Nightlife in the coral city is as strange and different as it is in a human city. Many reef residents are nocturnal, never seen by snorkelers during the day. Many fish active during the day put on their pajamas (change color) and go to sleep on the reef at night. At night, many corals extend delicate tentacles to catch shrimp and worms that emerge under the cover of darkness. With flashlights and trained Naturalists we take the intrepid and curious on an adventure of a lifetime to discover the fascinating world of the reef at night.
Snorkeling Secrets
Jean-Michel Cousteau has named Grand Cayman as one of the world’s best snorkeling destinations and our Naturalists have insider knowledge on all the best spots and healthiest reefs. Weather, currents and seasons can all affect the activity on the reef, so on any given day we’ll find the site with the best conditions and most diversity of life.
