Ambassadors of the Environment

Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment introduces guests to the natural wonders and rich cultural traditions of the Cayman Islands. Throughout these unique Caribbean eco-tours, the islands’ ecological resources become a natural classroom and living laboratory in which adults, families and kids learn while having so much fun, they’ll never imagine it’s educational. Through exploration and active study, Ambassadors have meaningful experiences that imbue them with a deep appreciation and respect for nature, as well as an understanding of how to live more environmentally responsibly back home. At the heart of these Grand Cayman eco-tours are four principles: everything is connected; there is no waste in nature; everything runs on energy; and biodiversity is good.

Each Grand Cayman Ambassadors of the Environment adventure begins upon arrival at our Heritage House, a traditional island cottage showcasing Caymanian culture. The building is surrounded with innovative examples of ecologically responsible living, including native flora, edible landscaping and alternative energy exhibits. This is the setting for the discovery of sustainable living, eco-friendly construction, efficient energy use and leading-edge sustainable practices.
