Blue Iguana Recovery Program - Give Back Getaways

Available upon request

A breath away from extinction, the Grand Cayman Blue Iguana relies on a breeding program to maintain its claim as the island’s largest native land animal. You will partake in a critical project to ensure their survival. You will be briefed by a Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment Naturalist on the plight of these 25-pound “blue dragons” during a scenic 45 minute drive to the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park. You will assist the Iguana Wardens with feeding caretaking of babies and breeding pairs in captivity and serve as a spotter in the park to map the location of roaming blues using binoculars and GPS tracking. You may even meet Blue Tip, the iguana the resort earned the right to name by raising funds selling blue iguana golf head covers.

Adult USD$100/Child 12-15 USD$50 Fee covers transportation to the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park and a donation to the Blue Iguana Recovery Program. Minimum age 12.
