Harvest Festival Yappy Hour

“Bark” your calendar for Yappy Hour! Stop by the resort’s Cypress Lawn for schmoozing and sniffing with fellow dogs and dog lovers. Canine clientele will savor complimentary treats, toys and flavored waters while their owners enjoy specially priced beer, wine and appetizers from the bar. A portion of all proceeds will go towards The Peninsula Humane Society.

Come at your leisure to experience tastings of our Vintner of the Month Chateau St. Jean Winery, in ENO Wine Bar. A wine educator from Chateau St. Jean Winery will be on hand to discuss the latest wines in their portfolio as well as provide tips and information. Each vintage shows Chateau St. Jean's passion for crafting wines that express the best of Sonoma. Founded in 1973, they became a pioneer in the development of single-vineyard wines. Winemaker Margo Van Staaveren is only the fourth winemaker in Chateau St. Jean history.

Grab a blanket and cozy up under the stars to learn about them from Urban Astronomer Paul Salazar. Looking though a high powered telescope Paul will share his knowledge of the solar system, stars and planets that we can see from the Ocean Lawn. This evening event is complimentary and weather permitting.

Homegrown Cocktails in the Conservatory
Friday, September 19 at 4p.m.
On the third Friday of the month, the resort’s Growing Wall will be changed out in The Conservatory. At the same time, one of the featured Homegrown Cocktails will be retired from the menu and a new cocktail will be placed on the menu. Guests who are in The Conservatory during the change out will be treated to a sample taste of the new cocktail. The Growing Wall features live herbs that are the inspiration for the Homegrown Cocktail menu and the fresh herbs are incorporated in drinks.

Salon D’Art Exhibition

Salon D’ Art will be showcasing wide array of art of the last five centuries throughout the lobby. Pop Up Bar with Guest Mixologist

Volunteer to assist the local community while on vacation. The resort’s Give Back Getaway program provides the opportunity to sort, package and distribute food to in-need families in Half Moon Bay through Coastside Hope. The program takes place the third Thursday of each month at the Coastside Hope facilities. Sorting and packaging of food is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. with distribution following from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Guests can choose to participate for either two or four hours.

In the Kitchen a Navio Cooking Event
October 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2014: Pumpkins, Pumpkins and Pumpkins
In the Kitchen with Chef Tanaka, a series of monthly, demonstration-style cooking class highlighting seasonal fare sourced from the renowned farms surrounding the coastal resort.
Half Moon Bay is the Pumpkin Capitol of the World and the Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin class highlights creative ways to incorporate pumpkin into a menu. Chef Tanaka reviews the different varieties of pumpkins and outlines the best use for each type including which varietal makes the best soup, the perfect pasta or ravioli filling, or stands up to a flavorful curry dish.

In the Kitchen events are $85 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity and are held in Navio from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The program includes a three-course lunch with wine paired by Petra Polakovicova, the resort’s sommelier.

Navio presents a monthly Vintner Dinner that features distinguished local wineries with a four or two-course dinner created by Chef Kevin Tanaka. A vintner representative will pair each course with a specialty wine and discuss each varietal. October’s Vintner Dinner is with Far Niente, established by the partners of Far Niente in 1997, Nickel & Nickel is focused on producing single vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the appellation’s most significant AVAs. A small collection of single-vineyard Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel complements the portfolio.

Second Saturday Brunch, a more casual offering, will be presented every second Saturday throughout the fall and winter seasons. The brunch will be themed to showcase some of the local areas bountiful harvest featuring pumpkins in October. *For an extra decadent chocolate experience, try a Recchiuti Confections (San Francisco) S’Mores Kit - $45 per box. This dreamy treat includes a Bittersweet 85% chocolate bar, eight vanilla bean marshmallows and eight Recchiuti Grahams.
