Visitors and the local community are invited to participate in the second annual “E Malama Kou Kino…Care for Your Body” event at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. Workout sessions and wellness seminars are complimentary for overnight guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. Thursday, September 4

5:45 a.m. – E ala E Ceremonies at Honokahua Beach – (D.T. Fleming Beach)
Join cultural practitioners for an invigorating ceremony guaranteed to rejuvenate your body and spirit. Chants are offered by all to the rising sun. Attendees should bring swim wear and towels. Note: Photography is prohibited.

7:30 a.m. – Barefoot Boot Camp® with Carl Powell III
Barefoot Boot Camp is a mind/body-based workout that incorporates Power Yoga, Pilates, and Strength training intervals. If you are ready to change your body, this is the class for you! Workout 60 minutes

9 a.m. – TaijiFit Flow with David Dorian Ross
TaijiFit™ is a mind/body “exercise” that combines the best of traditional Taiji (Tai Chi) with modern Western fitness. It’s a workout appropriate for any age or fitness level. Workout, 60 minutes

10:30 a.m. – Fight Club – Bodyweight Training & Boxing with Billy Beck III

7:30 a.m. – Active Yoga with Carl Powell III

A high energy Yoga workout, followed with deep stretching. Hatha Yoga is an ancient yet scientific system developed to revitalize the body and calm the mind. This class includes Yoga postures, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation work. Together they will help strengthen and purify the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, endocrine and nervous systems. You will receive gentle, step-by-step instruction throughout this session. 8 a.m. – Coastal Walk and Tide Pool Exploration with Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment
Adventure the Kapalua Coastal Trail with our naturalists as we visit a few of Maui’s treasures that include the coastal tide pools and some of the most beautiful weathered rock formations. Meet at the Pool Bar & Café. $49 per guest.

9 a.m. – TaijiFit Fusion with David Dorian-Ross
Experience bliss as master trainer David Dorian-Ross teaches a combination of Taiji and Yoga. All levels can participate in this class designed to increase strength coordination and balance. 60 minutes

10 a.m. – Sense of Place
A Sense of Place begins with the presentation of the award-winning documentary Then There Were None followed by a discussion of the history and subjects discussed in the film. A guided walking tour of the Honokahua Preservation Site explains its significance to ancient Hawaiians and its’ role today.

10:30 a.m. – Nutrition for Fat Loss Made Simple with Billy Beck III

This Pilates inspired class combines Pilate’s mat exercise, core fitness training for a balances lean body! This class is designed to take you beyond Pilates to become strong, stretched and centered. Workout, 60 minutes

10:30 a.m. – The Truth about getting a flat belly (and six-pack abs) with Billy Beck III
Abdominal training is always a hot topic. Yet, with hundreds of different exercises from which to choose, it can be confusing as to what moves give you the best bang for your workout buck. The “Fountain of Youth” also called the “Five Tibetan Rites”, is a form of exercises and stretches that among many things stimulate the glands, muscles and nerves of the body to increase in vitality and stamina. They are a form of Yoga that is thought to have developed about 2500 years ago in Tibet. The mindful nature of these exercises is in alignment with eastern traditions of physical exercise as part of respecting the human body as a temple fit for the spirit to live comfortably.
