A cheese aficionado since the age of ten, Jason Truckenmiller’s passion and expertise has led him to a successful career in the cheese industry. Truckenmiller has an AS in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales and he has participated in wine and cheese competitions including The American Cheese Awards in California and the Gourmet Food and Wine Show in New York.
Since joining ENO’s team in 2007, Truckenmiller has had the opportunity to constantly learn about new and exotic cheeses. In addition to ordering and maintaining the cheese inventory, Truckenmiller is available on the floor to educate and assist guests with their cheese and wine pairings. Truckenmiller’s previous positions have ranged from line-cook to caterer and banquet chef at some of the finest restaurants in New York; Atlanta, Georgia; and Charleston, South Carolina, amongst others.
In addition to teaching guests about cheese, Truckenmiller also educates ENO’s in-house staff to ensure that they are familiar with each type. The exotic and rare cheeses from local artisans that can be found at ENO display Truckenmiller’s constant exploration and interest in new and innovative cheeses.
“My philosophy is to suggest cheeses that will further enhance the overall ENO experience by allowing our guests to savor some of the finest artisanal cheeses,” says Jason Truckenmiller. “By offering numerous unique pairings of wine, cheese and chocolate, we can tailor a personal flight to every customer’s liking.”
