Embrace your sea legs on a whale watching excursion and see first-hand why Dana Point is the Whale Capital of the West. Dana Point is believed to serve as a visual landmark for several species of whales that migrate along the Pacific Coast. Majestic blue whales, graceful humpback whales and nurturing gray whales are visible as they travel along our coastline. Enjoy our local dolphin inhabitants frolicking in the Southern California waters. 1 to 4 p.m.; $110 per person

EXPLORE THE SHORE
Investigate the vital intertidal zone as we explore the shore. The shoreline is an important ecosystem where the land meets the sea. The amazing creatures that live here have adapted to life in the ever-changing tides.
9 a.m. to noon, depending on the tides; $80 per person

BEACH BONZAI
Enhance your body boarding skills at Salt Creek Beach. Learn how waves are created. Study the effects of a rip current. Discover the longshore drift. Then catch a wave and have fun body boarding. Bonzai! 1 to 4 p.m., depending on the tides; $90 per person


WEDNESDAY

SANDsational
Explore the sandy expanse of Strands Beach. Investigate the local foliage and wildlife of the Dana Point Headlands and learn how they have adapted to life on the ever-changing coast. Explore the connection between land and sea in this SANDsational world. 9 a.m. to noon; $80 per person

CREATIVE KITCHEN
Explore the resort’s organic garden and learn about sustainable gardening and the benefits of composting. Take your harvest into the kitchen, don your very own chef hat and create a meal with your freshly picked ingredients. Bon appetit! 1 to 4 p.m.; $90 per person

THE BIG BANG
Search the final frontier after the sun goes down. The night sky is filled with stars, far off galaxies and endless stories. 6 to 9 p.m.; $90 per person
