My favorite surf spot is Sunset Beach which is located in northern Orange County just north of Bolsa Chica State Beach. It is a local surfer's secret spot so it is never crowded. It is a long stretch of white sand with views of beautiful homes. It is a perfect place to do a beach run before heading out to the water. There are A frame peaks with small barrels at times. It is a short and simple paddle out and a great place for beginner surfers. It is nestled among some wonderful restaurants to grab a bite to eat after fun day of surfing.

My favorite surf spot is San Onofre. It’s a long boarders delight! It’s a low slow breaking wave and very consistent. It is a great place for beginners or those looking to enjoy a relaxing environment. All of the locals are friendly, sporting a smile and saying hi as you drive in. There is no fighting for a wave; the vibe is mellow which is probably why it’s called "old mans." Everyone knows there are enough waves to go around and are there to enjoy them together and have fun. Pack a picnic and enjoy the day.

The second reef at Doheny Beach is my favorite surf spot. It only breaks when the surf is big and the swell is coming from a south/southwest direction. Tip: watch out for the rock and be a strong swimmer. You may see locals Mike Parsons or Pat O’Connell, both well-known surfers.

Salt Creek is my favorite place to surf! It has so much to offer. You can get a day where there are barrels all over the place or a day when it's all about ripping up the waves. There are a lot of breaks so that spreads out the surfers and the kelp bed calms down the wind down so it stays clean in the surf area. Well known surfers like Pat O’Connell and Nate Yeomans surf Salt Creek all the time so you might just share a wave with them.

Lower Trestles in San Clemente is my favorite surf spot. Because it can be very crowded, I recommend it for proficient surfers. The wave has an open-faced right and a punchy quick left. This wave is good all year, but the waves in the summer and fall are the best. World-famous surfers like Christian Fletcher, who pioneered modern aerial surfing, Kelly Slater, Chris Ward, Cory Lopez, Joe Crimo, Justin Matteson, and almost all of the other aerial experts, have learned a thing or two about ripping at Lowers.

My favorite surf spot is at San Onofre. It is known as Old Man’s Bay and the waves are the perfect size for beginners, and “older” men and women.
