Relax and uncover your inner artist – A Treat Yourself Day With A Difference

Yearning for the ability to decipher any painting in an art gallery at home or abroad? Develop skills which will bring paintings to life and all in one day, in wonderful surroundings! The Ritz-Carlton, Powerscourt has partnered with Art Impressions, run by Cathy Roche, offering attendees a visit to the hotel with a creative twist. Guests have the opportunity to unlock their creative sides (even for those who think they lack a creative bone in their body!) and surprise themselves as they partake in a half day tour of the National Gallery in Dublin, returning to the hotel for lunch and a painting session with artist Karen Ebbs.

Cathy is a freelance guide who set up Art Impressions, specialising in art tours in her native city of Dublin. Cathy is both educated in and passionate about art but is more passionate about making art accessible to those she works with. Forget feeling inadequate or uneasy whilst in the galleries of Dublin, as Cathy has a wonderfully informal approach to explaining famous works of art. Following the tour, guests return to a delicious lunch at The Ritz-Carlton, Powerscourt, taking in the breathtaking scenery, offering food for thought for their afternoon painting class.

The afternoon will be spent with Karen Ebbs who is not only a very successful artist but is also an excellent tutor who believes painting should be fun. Karen’s relaxed approach will release inner creativity and introduce attendees to the enjoyment of using colour on canvas. Guests are encouraged to relax, enjoy and learn whilst trying different brushes or a palette knife to create their own painting to take home.
