U.S Open Sectional Qualifier

The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota has been selected as one of just 11 sites across the United States to host sectional qualifying for the 2013 U.S. Open, and the only one in Florida. Sectional qualifying, conducted over 36 holes, will be held on Monday, June 3. The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Bradenton, is a U.S. Open sectional site for the first time, having previously conducted two U.S. Open local qualifiers.

On this day, the private club will welcome spectators beginning at 8 a.m. And in the spirit of the US Open (technically, it is an “open” tournament, available to all comers rather than restricted to a certain group of golfers), The Ritz-Carlton golf professional will offer complimentary 10-minute lessons in the areas of full swing, putting, and short game to interested parties from 9 to 11 a.m. )

Additionally, The Golf Channel will be on location, with live filming of “Golf’s Longest Day,” a special program which made a very successful debut last year, covering all 11 U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying sites across the country.
