What is required by Japan for a legal wedding ceremony?
Marriage in Japan consists of a civil marriage registration by the couple at a Japanese municipal government office. The male partner must be 18 years of age or older and the female partner must be 16 years of age or older. A woman cannot get married within six months of the dissolution of her previous marriage. A person who is under 20 years of age cannot get married in Japan without a parent's approval.

What is the average cost per person for food and beverage for my wedding at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo?
Based on our current banquet menus, you may expect to spend on average, 20,000 – 30,000yen per person , both of which are exclusive of service charge and sales tax. These averages include hors d’oeuvres for your welcome reception, three-course plated meal, wedding cake, wine service with the meal, champagne toast and an open, hosted bar for the entire event, based on a moderately drinking group. Please be aware that our menu items and pricing are subject to change and are guaranteed 30 days in advance. Your final menu pricing will be based on your actual selections.
What are the deposits based on and when are they due?
Deposits are 200,000yen. Two months prior to your event, 50% of the estimated charges are due. One month prior to your event, 75% of the estimated charges are due, and the estimated final balance is due fourteen business days prior to your event.
When do I need to tell The Ritz-Carlton exactly how many guests will be attending my wedding?
The catering department must be notified of the exact number of guests attending a function at least 48 working hours prior to the start of the event. This will be considered a guarantee, for which you will be charged, even if fewer guests attend the function.
Do the bride and groom get a complimentary room for the wedding night?
The hotel provides a complimentary guestroom for all the bride and groom on the night of their wedding.

The Ritz-Carlton provides all food and beverages, tables and chairs, table linens, silverware and glasses, and staging for your event. The rental of a ceremony location includes chair set-up and staging as well as rehearsal time for the ceremony.
