This month’s featured purveyor is Blue Ridge Produce. Located in the Virginia Piedmont area, Blue Ridge aggregates fresh fruit and vegetables grown by local farms and provides many of Washington’s finest restaurants with top quality produce from our region. Learn more about Blue Ridge’s products from one of their representatives while enjoying a selection of antipasti, crudité platters and freshly made juices prepared with their superior products.

National Capital Barbecue Battle

Kick off your summer with the National Capital Barbecue Battle and enjoy food samples, cooking demonstrations, interactive displays and children’s activities. This family friendly was voted as a “Top 10 BBQ Event” by The Travel Channel and Discovery.com and also features live musical entertainment, interactive exhibits, and children’s activities. In appreciation of Washington, D.C. local farmers, Westend Bistro is presenting picnic style dining on the restaurant’s picturesque patio every Thursday and Friday, featuring different local farmers in each dish. The menu changes weekly, and each week a different local farmer is featured. Each week’s menu starts with a platter of local cheese and charcuterie, artisan breads from bakeries in the area, enhanced with homemade accompaniments such as pickled ramps and marmalades. The next course comes with a choice of two entrees that are paired with fresh, delectable salads and sides, leading to a finale of seasonal desserts and fruits from the farms in the region.

The Picnic on the Patio menu is offered Thursdays and Fridays for lunch as well as dinner from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Lunch is priced at $28 per person and dinner at $40 per person.
