National Memorial Day Concert

West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol

Celebrate Memorial Day on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. This special concert features actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise, and other guest artists along with the National Sympathy Orchestra.

National Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 27, 2013, 2 p.m.
This special parade honoring those who gave their lives serving the United States features patriotic marches and floats, musical performers and celebrity veterans and supporters of the military, including Pat Sajak, Gary Sinise, Joe Mantegna, and Miss America. The parade begins at the corner of Constitution Avenue and 7th Streets, NW and proceeds along Constitution Avenue, past the White House, ending at 17th Street.

This annual month-long celebration of international culture showcases Washington, D.C.’s foreign embassies and features a wide range of performances, talks, and exhibits. Highlights include an Around the World Embassy Tour showcasing embassies from Africa, Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, and the Americas; an International Children’s Festival featuring interactive and educational fair; a rare look at the diverse European Union cultures at Shortcut to Europe: European Union Embassies’ Open House; artistic shopping at the Global Market Place; and an Asian Heritage Festival that features musical performances, a multicultural marketplace and art exhibits. This annual festival features over 100 jazz performances at various concert venues and clubs in Washington, D.C. National Capital Barbecue Battle

Kick off your summer with the National Capital Barbecue Battle and enjoy food samples, cooking demonstrations, interactive displays and children’s activities.
