The beachfront palace unveils 30th anniversary package and highlights Omani traditions and culture
Muscat, Sultanate of Oman; October 26, 2015:Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel, marks Oman national day with a series of events to be held in the iconic palace throughout the month of November, and an exclusive, limited 30th anniversary package to discover the “Secrets of the Palace”.
Al Bustan Palace officially opened in 1985, on the occasion of the first GCC Summit to take place in the Sultanate. In the last 30 years, it has set the standard for luxury hospitality in Oman and helped transform Muscat into the must-see destination it is today. To celebrate this milestone, Al Bustan Palace, the sultan’s palace, pays homage to the Sultanate and His Majesty Sultan Qaboos through launching a month of festivities simultaneously with the 45th Oman National Day celebrations.
To mark the beginning of the festivities, the national colours will be proudly displayed around the palace, reinforcing the majestic heritage of the legendary hotel. Al Bustan Palace has chosen to bring light to the Ladies and Gentlemen of the palace, unveiling an anniversary calendar highlighting stories and memories told by some ladies and gentlemen of the hotel.
Thursday 12th November will be the highlight of a long-standing relationship between the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra in Muscat and Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton hotel. An exclusive concert will be held to celebrate the combined 30 years anniversary of the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra and the palace. The event, an evening of Classical and Romantic Music, including the virtuosic First Piano Concerto in E flat by Franz Liszt, will take place at the Oman Auditorium at Al Bustan Palace, featuring world-renowned pianist and visiting guest artist Daniel Grimwood. The program will also include Beethoven's First Symphony. A truly memorable event that a few select attendees will enjoy in exclusivity. Tickets will be available to purchase from November 1st at Al Bustan Palace.
In a tribute to the Sultanate and its culinary flavors, guests are invited to experience the authenticity and magic of the Arabian Nights at Al Khiran Terrace. Each Thursday night throughout November, the all-day dining venue will dress up for an Omani feast overlooking the infinity pool and the beachfront. Guests will be invited to dine in a traditional Omani ambience, surrounded by the fire torches of the pool and garden and the sound of a traditional kanoun player.
Guests willing to explore the life of the palace and discover all of the secrets and history of the iconic palace can book an exclusive ‘Secrets of the palace”, exclusively offered until 24th December 2015.
The package includes an Omani warm welcome with coffee and dates and an exclusive, one-hour tour of the facilities to explore the history and unique facts about the palace. In addition to this, guests can indulge in a themed buffet dinner at Al Khiran Terrace, and enjoy an overnight stay with breakfast at Al Bustan Palace. Rates start from OMR 160 + taxes per night in a Deluxe room.
To give an opulent twist to the celebrations, the recently opened Six Senses Spa at Al Bustan Palace will offer a 45 minute Omani Bath Beauty Ritual, performed in a luxurious copper bathtub, in one of the spa’s magnificent treatment suites. Using cloves, local herbs and oils, the ritual is designed to stimulate the senses and relax. It includes foot file, whilst in the bath, and hair mask.
Giving back to the local community is one of the strongest pillars of the brand’s social responsibility programme, Community Footprints. The teams at Al Bustan Palace take part in a series of activities aligned around the issues that are important to the local community, mobilizing skill-based volunteering and resources to make a difference. In celebration of the 45th National Day celebrations in Oman, proceeds from the Omani traditional buffet held each Thursday night in November at Al Khiran Terrace will be donated to Al Khoud Child Care Center, to support the hotel’s commitment to child wellbeing.

TUCSON, ARIZ. – July 14, 2015 -- The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is celebrating new recognition by Wine Spectator magazine, as the publication has awarded its prestigious 2015 Best Award of Excellence to CORE Kitchen & Wine Bar. Receiving the award for the second year in a row, CORE is among only 13 Arizona establishments to be so honored.
“We are truly grateful to be recognized by Wine Spectator, and thrilled that our wine program has again been recognized nationally,” said Liam Doyle, General Manager for The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. “While we have created a wine offering that we believe can serve true aficionados, it is also a joy to see casual diners asking to learn about wines or sample labels on our CORE Kitchen & Wine Bar menu. Guests are truly enjoying the resort’s accessible beverage experience.”
Led by sommelier Mike West, the wine program at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain features 6,200 bottles, with a focus on coveted, hard-to-find labels and vintages. Among these are CORE’s own Dove Mountain Cuvée, a proprietary, custom Russian River blend produced at the Dutton-Goldfield facility co-developed by Mike West and Dan Goldfield, offered only at the property. Other national exclusives on the restaurant’s wine list include by-the-glass offerings of Epoch Estate and Ledge California Soul. CORE Kitchen & Wine Bar is also the only restaurant in Arizona to offer rare bottles such as Philip Togni Estate from 2005, Ledge Vineyards by Mark Adams and sought-after back vintages of Justin Smith’s Saxum. Additionally, Dove Mountain Cuvée II will be introduced later this year, presenting a new and different Russian River blend again developed with Dutton-Goldfield. CORE guests are currently enjoying the first Dove Mountain Cuvée, which is drinking exceptionally well and should be available for another few months.
Guests and area residents wishing to sample the resort’s wines also have access to the popular CORE Wine Experience, presented every Friday at 5 p.m. Priced at $20 per person, the CORE Wine Experience features a sommelier-guided tasting journey through some of the world’s most notable wine regions. Three different labels are served, accompanied by tasting notes, food pairing suggestions and complimentary charcuterie. The offering is designed and led by the wine program’s Mike West, who has also just been named general manager/wine director for CORE Kitchen and Wine Bar.
