BOSTON, Mass. – July 27, 2016 – With the 2016 summer games just one week away, The Ritz-Carlton, Boston joins in the worldwide excitement August 5th – 21st by featuring several Brazilian-infused small bites and cocktails in Avery Bar, located in the hotel’s lobby.  Executive Chef Frank Kassner is ready to heat up Avery Bar’s Taste and Share menu when he introduces a fiery new tapas-style dish, that’s prefect for sharing while watching the upcoming historic games.

Inspired and influenced by many of The Ritz-Carlton, Boston’s Ladies and Gentleman who call Brazil home, Chef Kassner will offer a popular Brazilian bar snack and a flavorful fish that’s native to New England: Salt Cod Croquettas – local blue cod with lemon aioli - and Short Rib pasteis with farmer’s cheese (similar to a Latin American empanada) - are paired together to offer one menu item that Kassner says is “easily shareable and a perfect summer treat.” 

Avery Bar’s lead bartender, Sterling Jackson, plans to offer a few craft cocktails to help keep guests cool during the heated summer games, and to complement the Salt Cod Croquettas and Short Rib pasteis.

Headlining her list of specialty drinks is Brazil’s national cocktail, the “Caipirinha,” a cachaça rum-based medley that includes freshly squeezed limes and sugar. A drink of champions she calls the “Bronze, Silver and Gold,” which is comprised of reposado, silver, and anejo tequila will be featured as well. And for the more adventurous, Jackson’s “Freestyle Martini” which combines vodka, dry vermouth, garlic bitters and sea salt pairs nicely with Chef Kassner’s plump and crispy salt cod croquettas.

Avery Bar will broadcast the summer games on a wide screen television so guests won’t miss a moment of all of the exciting action while enjoying the Lounge’s Taste and  Share menu and summer craft cocktails.  For more information, visit
