HALF MOON BAY, Calif. – September 6, 2016 – Pumpkin spice is starting to fill the air and with that Chef Jason Pringle of Navio at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay is ready for pumpkin season on the coast.  This year he is excited to collaborate with local culinarian Joanne Weir for an exclusive autumn cooking class.

The James Beard Award-winning cookbook author, international cooking teacher and renowned chef, Joanne Weir will bring her cooking talents to the resort and teach one of her famed cooking classes.  On Friday, October 28 the Autumn Cooking Class with Chef Pringle and Chef Weir will begin at with a discussion about the dishes they will be crafting in the Navio kitchen.  From there the guests will participate in a personal hands-on-demonstration, learning cooking tips and techniques while preparing a seasonal appetizer, main course and dessert influenced by the region.

Once the cooking is complete, the class will sit down together to indulge in the fruits of their labor overlooking the idyllic bluffs of the northern California coast. All guests will dine with Chef Pringle and Chef Weir enjoying their 3-course lunch complete with wine parings.

The Autumn Cooking Class Menu inspired by locally sourced ingredients will include:

Homemade Butternut Squash Ravioli with Brown Butter
Toasted Hazelnuts and Fried Sage

Roasted Halibut with Pumpkin Seed Salsa Verde
Wilted Fall Greens
Gratin of Butternut Squash, Parsley and Garlic

Caramelized Spiced Pumpkin Budino
