HALF MOON BAY, Calif. – September 6, 2016 – Sous Chef Alain Zhang of Sand restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya in China has been welcomed as a guest chef into the kitchen of The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay this month.

While visiting Northern California, Chef Zhang has been enjoying the culinary offerings of the San Francisco Bay Area.  During this trip Executive Chef Xavier Salomon has invited Chef Zhang to share his Chinese culinary talents at the famed Navio Sunday Brunch.  Chef Zhang will have his own pop-up station during brunch displaying Chinese Hainan cuisine and fare from his hometown of Hohhot in Inner Mongolia.

Hainan cuisine is known as lighter and more mildly seasoned than that of the Chinese mainland. The menu predominantly offers seafood such as shrimp, crab, and freshwater and ocean fish are widely available.

Chef Zhang’s pop up stations will be available at Sunday Brunch in Navio on Sunday, September 11 and Sunday, September 18.  Sunday Brunch is priced at $109 per guest, exclusive of tax and gratuity.  Reservations are recommended and be made by calling 650.712.7000.
