SANDSATIONAL SEA HIKE
Investigate the local foliage and wildlife of the Dana Point Headlands and learn how they have adapted to life on the ever-changing coast. Accompanied by marine biologists, you will learn about kelp forest ecology. (Ages 9 and up: $80 per person, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

Embrace your sea legs on a whale watching excursion and see first-hand why Dana Point is the Whale Capital of the West. Dana Point is believed to serve as a visual landmark for several species of whales that migrate along the Pacific Coast. Majestic blue whales and graceful humpback whales are visible as they travel along our coastline. Enjoy our local dolphin inhabitants frolicking in the Southern California waters.

Enhance your body boarding skills at Salt Creek Beach. Learn how waves are created. Study the effects of a rip current. Discover the longshore drift. Then catch a wave and have fun body boarding. Banzai! (Ages 9 and up: $90 per person, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

CREATIVE KITCHEN 
Explore the resort’s organic garden and learn about sustainable gardening and the benefits of composting. Take your harvest into the kitchen, don your very own chef hat and create a meal with your freshly picked ingredients. Bon appetit!  $90 per person (Ages 5 to 16; Tuesday and Thursday 1 to 4 p.m.)

ECO ARTIST
In collaboration with renowned marine life artist Wyland, view a screening of Wyland’s documentary, “A Brush with Giants,” to discover the vast size difference from the smallest plankton to the giant blue whale. Then find your inner Van Gogh and sculpt a smiling dolphin, paint a sunset, create silhouetted marine life or decorate your own “official Eco Artist” frame. (Ages 5 to 16: $90 per person, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)
