Industry Veteran Continues Career Path at AAA Five Diamond Mountain Resort

NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – May 30, 2017 – The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, located mid-mountain at Northstar California Resort, is pleased to announce the appointment of Marian Wilson as Director of Sales & Marketing. Wilson joins The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe with more than 30 years of hospitality experience and an extensive background in managing sales, marketing, operations, and personnel. At the resort, she will oversee revenue management, group, catering and transient sales, and all marketing initiatives at the property.

“Ms. Wilson’s proven track record of sales leadership, business development, revenue management and strategic marketing make her the ideal candidate for this important role,” said Joseph Mattioli, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. “Not only does she hold an impressive background, but her management approach is highly motivated and goal-oriented. We look forward to the tremendous success that she will bring to our luxury property.”

Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, Wilson served as Director of Sales at Horseshoe Bay Resort in Austin, Texas. During her tenure at the property, she exceeded banquet goals by $1.4 million and increased revenue per available room by almost 11 percent. Prior to that, she served as Director of Sales & Marketing at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle, Washington, where she exceeded room revenues by $3 million and achieved employee satisfaction of 98 percent. Wilson has also held roles as Director of Sales & Marketing at Embassy Suites Las Vegas and Director of Sales at Best Western International, along with various sales positions at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, and Hyatt Regency Hotels & Resorts.

Wilson is a graduate of the renowned Cornell University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History. With a passion for cooking, hiking, and traveling, Wilson has been an active member of several women’s support organizations, including Dress for Success.
