Puck’sTraveling “Night Market” Event on February 9th Kicks Off 10 Days of Festivities Commemorating the Year of the Fire Monkey

LOS ANGELES, CA – Jan. 7,2016 – WP24 Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles will ringin Chinese New Year on Feb. 9, 2016 with a one-night-only event featuring a “NightMarket” display of food stations and spectacular lion dancers, followed by a sit-down,three-course menu. The event marks the start of the restaurant’s celebration ofthe Lunar New Year; from Feb. 10 – 19, 2016 guests can order a special ChineseNew Year tasting menu and enjoy the return of the venue’s popular Wishing Tree.

ChineseNew Year Night Market and Dinner, Feb. 9th

Curated by chef de cuisine JohnLechleidner, the three course menu begins with options such as Whole Santa Barbara Spot Prawns and General Tso Glazed Wolfe Ranch Quail,which represent family togetherness. The second course, evocative of the fiveblessings of the New Year - longevity, riches, peace, wisdom and virtue –includes 5 Spice Marinated Colorado LambChamps and Szechuan PeppercornCrusted American Wagyu Rib Eye with oxtail Shanghai noodles. The finalcourse features the Tangerine Creamsiclewith citrus semi-freddo, coconut, and crispy tangerines for the similaritiesbetween the pronunciation of “tangerine” and the word “monkey” in Mandarin.

Prior to dinner, guests will have theopportunity to wander the “Night Market’ and indulge in five live-actionstations offering delicacies such as AlaskanKing Crab Lo Mai, Whole RoastedPeking Duckling, Crispy Skin PorkBelly, Chinese New Year Dumplingsand Spicy Szechuan Skewers. The NightMarket opens at 6:30 pm with a traditional lion dance, with seated dinner at7:30 pm. The entire evening is priced at $110 per person with an additional $35per guest for an optional wine pairing.

Yearof the Fire Monkey Tasting Menu and Wishing Tree, Feb. 10 – 19th

To celebrate the “Year of the Fire Monkey,”forecasting imaginative, adventurous, and lively qualities, WP24 by WolfgangPuck invites guests to enjoy a fiery eight- or six-course tasting menu, pricedat $120 and $95 per person respectively. Available Feb. 10 – 19, 2016, thefestive Chinese New Year meal incorporates elements of heat throughout,featuring flavorful dishes such as a RedChili Braised Kurobuta Pork Shank with spicy Szechuan peppercorns, Chinesechives, and garlic noodles (symbolic of longevity); and “Szechuan Style” American Wagyu Rib Eye with toasted red chilies,garlic, and cilantro.

In addition, WP24 continues itstradition of finishing the Chinese New Year meal with its classic “WishingTree” adorned with red envelopes. At the end of the meal, guests may select anenvelope which holds a proverb, message, or special gift such as acomplimentary spa treatment at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Los Angeles or a specialtycocktail from WP24.
