Day-long retreat includes rooftop yoga and meditation, healthy lunch, and choice of holistic therapies; coincides with the year’s new moon to encourage new beginnings

LOS ANGELES, CA — January 6, 2017 Whether looking to recover from a season of indulgence or put your best foot forward the year ahead, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Los Angeles offers a day-long Emotional Wellness Retreat to help cleanse and recalibrate. Offered Sunday, January 29, 2017 to coincide with the year’s first “new moon” – an auspicious symbol of new beginnings – the retreat begins with poolside yoga led by certified instructor Clio Manuelian, to bring mind and body into balance. Guests enjoy a nutritious lunch on the hotel’s rooftop deck, followed by a half hour of meditation for an emotion-clearing recharge.

Guests are then rewarded with their choice of a 50 minute spa service and may choose a traditional relaxation treatment or from a special roster of holistic therapies focused on reducing stress and anxiety, improving concentration, enhancing sleep and promoting overall well-being. Sample holistic treatments include Reiki, cranial sacral massage, reflexology, customized aromatherapy and Zen deep tissue massage.

A former fashion publicist and ex-New Yorker, Manuelian weaves together Hatha Yoga’s principles of alignment, strength and flexibility, with ancient philosophy and a little bit of modern humor. Her classes find the balance between vigorous and meditative, with constant encouragement and a goal of personal growth and transformation.

The Emotional Wellness Retreat at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Los Angeles takes place Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is priced from $295 per person based on treatment selection. To reserve a space, call the spa direct at 213-763-4400.
