MARINA DEL REY, CA – October 1st, 2016 – A leader in the hospitality industry for over 25 years, Ed Curry has accepted the position as Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey.

Most recently, Curry was the Director of Sales and Marketing at The Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, where he assisted with its repositioning following a $35 million dollar renovation.

He brings his expertise of the market, returning to the The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey where he previously held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing from 2003-2005. Curry will
lead a variety of projects such as strategic planning for group and transient sales and will oversee the first phase of a meeting space transformation scheduled to take place in 2017.

Curry attended the University of Denver, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration before beginning his hospitality career as a sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Hilton Head. Throughout his hospitality journey, he took on numerous sales roles across the country at hotels such as: the Grand Hyatt Wailea, Hyatt Resorts Hawaii, Hyatt Regency San Francisco and Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

From 2005-2008, Curry joined the team at The Ritz-Carlton, Huntington Hotel & Spa as Director of Sales and Marketing, eventually assisting with its ownership change to The Langham, Huntington Hotel & Spa.

A wine enthusiast, Curry ventured outside of hotels as Vice President of Consumer Operations for Hall Wines in Napa Valley from 2008-2012 and later became Senior Vice President from 2012-2013. Curry also acted as Vice President of Marketing and Direct Sales at St. Supery Estate Vineyards & Winery before relocating back to Southern California.

Curry has been recognized as a facilitator for The Ritz-Carlton Learning Center and a Sales Trainer for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company’s domestic and international hotels. He and his wife, Kelly, enjoy traveling while their son attends UCLA. An avid golfer, Curry won the 2013 Northern California FedEx Challenge.
