San Francisco’s Only Five-Star Hotel Continues its Collaboration with Breast Cancer Emergency Fund for the Fourth Year, Offering Pink-Inspired Specialties
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – October 3, 2017 – The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco is going pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the fourth consecutive year. Throughout the month of October, the iconic hotel’s grand exterior will be illuminated in the color of the symbolic ribbon to show support for this important cause. Guests and locals alike will be invited to support Bay Area-based Breast Cancer Emergency Fund (BCEF) – dedicated to providing emergency financial assistance to low-income women and men battling breast cancer – via a host of unique offerings created by the hotel’s culinary team.
From Pink Afternoon Tea in The Lounge, to a sparkling rosé available in The Lounge and Parallel 37, to pink donuts offered during Weekend Brunch at Parallel 37, The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco will donate $10 for every Pink Afternoon Tea seating and $1 for every glass of rosé and donut sold throughout the month of October to the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund.
“We are thrilled to be able to partner with Breast Cancer Emergency Fund for the fourth consecutive year,” said Tabish Siddiquie, Hotel Manager at
The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco. “This cause is of great importance to our community and as part of our company-wide social and environmental responsibility program, Community Footprints, we are dedicated to supporting our friends and neighbors battling breast cancer. These month-long offerings were designed both to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month and raise funding for this vitally important local organization, who has delivered over $3,500,000 to over 3,000 breast cancer patients and their families since 2001.”
The JCB Tasting Lounge – located on the lobby level of The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco – will also be showing its support to the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund by donating proceeds from their signature Sparking Collection. The Sparkling Collection is an offering from The JCB Tasting Menu that features three of Jean Charles Boisset’s finest bubbles, including the exquisite Brut Rosé, JCB Nº 13.
The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco will also encourage guests to support Breast Cancer Emergency Fund’s signature event, “This Old Bag” by donating gently used designer handbags to the concierge throughout the month. On Friday, October 20, 2017, donations collected from the
hotel will join the array of handbags, clutches, satchels, and other gently used items to be
auctioned off at The Clift Hotel to help women and men in need. “This Old Bag” accounts for a quarter of Breast Cancer Emergency Fund’s annual operating budget – a perfect reason for hotel guests to embrace Union Square’s vibrant shopping scene.
"BCEF is honored to once again be partnering with the Ritz-Carlton and its staff for this vital funding of our financial assistance for low income breast cancer patients and their families", said Maria Sousa, BCEF Executive Director. "When the landmark hotel lights up pink during the month of October, it's a wonderful symbol of the commitment of the Ritz-Carlton and its team members to our community and a stellar example of corporate-based philanthropy for those who are actively battling breast cancer."
