Downtown luxury hotel celebrates 40 years of the Toronto International Film Festival
with the city’s largest tribute wall

TORONTO, September 10, 2015 – Whether you’re a Hollywood heartthrob or a local film buff, The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto is inviting guests to leave their mark on the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this year.

In honour of TIFF’s 40th anniversary, the downtown hotel has created a giant tribute wall in its main lobby. During the 10-day festival guests from around the world are encouraged to sign the wall, leave congratulatory remarks or comments about special TIFF memories.

“We’re hoping to create Toronto’s largest TIFF tribute wall,” says the hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Daniel Newberry. “TIFF is a world class festival and we wanted to pay tribute to its 40th anniversary with something that allows both industry icons and their fans to interact in a significant way,” he says.

The tribute wall is only one of the hotel’s speciality activations this year. An interactive outdoor screen will keep fans up to date on the latest TIFF news, while complimentary make up touch-ups by award-winning Spa My Blend by Clarins and a step and repeat board will be available for guests to capture their own red carpet look.

At celebrity hotspots Ritz Bar and DEQ Lounge, a themed cocktail menu inspired by the last 40 years will also be available. Speciality libations include the Blockbuster, Romancing the Nineties, the Revival of Vesper and signature cocktail - the 1976 – a special blend of Lapsang Souchong smoked amaretto and single malt scotch.
