guests, locals, small groups and team building

GEORGETOWN, GRAND CAYMAN – NOV. 26, 2015 – The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman proudly announced today the debut of its newest experiential offering, The Culinary Studio. The new, highly interactive cooking studio is designed exclusively for guests and locals alike, as well as social, corporate and guest events and team building experiences. Opening this week, the chic, high design space will offer inventive classes conceived by the resort’s culinary team featuring a wide variety of themes.

The new Culinary Studio experiences will draw inspiration from many of the hotel’s signature restaurant offerings including Blue by Eric Ripert and Taikun, among others, and will also offer team building cooking classes, perfect for a small group or retreat. A fun addition to the new studio will also be the introduction of a new “Chopped” style cook-off class, which partners guests with the hotel’s own Ritz-Carlton Chef team in a friendly competition style environment.

A sampling of the newly created culinary studio experiences include:

Blue Uncovered:
Travelers and locals alike may enjoy “Blue Uncovered,” a two-part series celebrating the essential character and nature of oceanic fare through the lens of Blue restaurant by Eric Ripert. Guests may enjoy an interactive experience which includes locally sourced seafood, elevated with seasonal flavors and masterful technique.

The Taikun Experience:
The chefs of the resort’s signature Japanese restaurant, Taikun, will deliver a unique class experience which helps guests understand the ancient art of Japanese sushi preparation.

The Andiamo Experience:
The resort’s Italian restaurant comes to life through an interactive cooking experience which highlights technique and execution around the preparation of the quintessential Italian staple, pasta.

The Dessert Experience:
The studio will offer two, distinct options for a unique dessert-inspired experience including an hour-long demonstration on the art of Macaron making, or an interactive session on the subtlety of cake carving.

The Cook-Off Experience:
The Cook-Off experience pairs guests with a Chef from The Ritz-Carlton in a “chopped” style activity, a three hour competition including a variety of surprise flavors and ingredients.

The Action Experience:
The Action Experience highlights live preparation of canapés from our banquet menu with an in-depth, look from the resort’s Chef. Designed to accommodate up to fifty participants, the one of a kind experience provides a behind the scenes glimpse at the hotel’s culinary operation.

The Discovery Experience:
The Discovery Experience is a one hour tasting lunch, perfect for a small group meeting or retreat. Throughout the lunch, guests are presented with unique opportunities to learn “tricks of the trade” from experts in the culinary field.
