event in the heart of the Caribbean

GEORGE TOWN, GRAND CAYMAN (September 28, 2017) – The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, a pristine oceanfront paradise, is excited to announce the official event lineup for the Tenth Annual Cayman Cookout. Held January 10-14, 2018, the weekend will feature vivacious cooking demonstrations, exclusive tastings, and unique epicurean experiences.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and Chef Eric Ripert, who helms the resort’s signature restaurant, Blue, are bringing together some of the world’s most creative culinary minds including his personal friends, Anthony Bourdain, José Andrés, Emeril Lagasse, Alfred Portale, Daniel Boulud, Dominique Crenn, Michael Mina, Rick Bayless, Robert Irvine, and Sean Brock, to host events throughout the weekend.

There are more than 40 scheduled events for the Cayman Cookout weekend including the following highlights:

The Adventures of Eric & Tony    
A staple event in the Cayman Cookout tradition, this culinary demonstration will take guests on a globe-spanning journey with Chef Eric Ripert and bestselling author and multiple Emmy Award-winning food personality, Anthony Bourdain. Guests will travel around the world from one unbelievable adventure to the next, as Delightful vs. Sinful meet in true Cayman Cookout style.

Olé José by Chef José Andrés        
The master of entertaining while cooking, Chef José Andrés will kick off the weekend by sharing spirited stories while making his famous paella for guests. Andrés’ engaging personality combined with his culinary expertise makes this one of the most anticipated events of the weekend.

Essential BAM!!! with Emeril Lagasse
Chef Emeril Lagasse will take his passion for food and “kick it up a notch” at this year’s Cayman Cookout. Through a dynamic cooking demonstration, the television star showcases his mastery of Creole and Cajun cuisine in his signature “New Orleans style.”

Around the World with Anthony Bourdain         
Renowned chef, bestselling author, and multiple Emmy-winning television personality, Anthony Bourdain, will take guests on a culinary adventure around the world. Chef Bourdain will educate guests in global cuisine as he tastes and discusses international and local flavors with Cayman's most celebrated chefs and restaurateurs.

Barefoot Barbecue  
During a night of dining under the stars, Eric Ripert, Anthony Bourdain, José Andrés, and other event chefs will harmonize sizzling grills with the breaking waves. Hand-crafted cocktails, live music and sweet creations will enchant guests into the evening.

The Beach Bash      
Catamarans will set sail across the turquoise Caribbean Sea to Stingray City – Chef Eric Ripert's favorite destination – where guests will swim, snorkel, and interact with the majestic sea creatures. Afterwards, guests will head over to Rum Point and revel in a distinctly Caymanian culinary experience with a special grilled lunch hosted by the talented chefs of Cayman Cookout.

Bon Vivant Cook-off Brunch
Endless Moët & Chandon champagne and extravagant brunch selections will enchant guests as Grand Cayman’s most ambitious amateur chefs duel in a live cook-off in The Cayman Islands Ballroom. The finalists will face off during Sunday brunch, with the winner to be determined by the ultimate judges: Eric Ripert, Anthony Bourdain, and José Andrés.

Eric Ripert Rum and Robusto       
Chef Eric Ripert and his friends invite guests for an exciting game with the Cookout’s honored chefs. Rum and Robusto, returning for its second consecutive year after last years’ successful debut, provides access to the highly anticipated Pétanque Game where guests will actively partake in the fun.

A Grand Finale Evening with Eric Ripert and the Chefs of Cayman Cookout
The tenth annual Cayman Cookout concludes with an unforgettable ten-course dinner, hosted by Chef Eric Ripert, featuring the talented chefs of Cayman Cookout for a truly Grand Finale.
