CHARLOTTE, NC – November 1, 2016 – The Punch Room has introduced seven new drinks for fall 2016, with mixologist Bob Peters’ latest creations already becoming fast favorites on the cocktail list. Featuring locally distilled spirits, house-made flavored syrups, and fresh hints of pear, fig, plum and honey, the new beverages also feature fresh garnishes which Peters grows in his expansive rooftop gardens at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte.

Peters has a special fondness for two of the new Punch Room cocktails. His first choice, the Vesper, is “super simple and incredibly elegant,” as Peters describes it. “This classic was actually created by the author Ian Fleming in 1953 for the James Bond character in a book entitled Casino Royale. I love this cocktail, and it is always available to sample at The Punch Room.” Peters is also a fan of a new drink he calls The Saint, which is highly visual and has an edible “halo” made of almond lace and created by Ritz-Carlton pastry chef Crystal Broadbent. “This is one of the most delicious and beautiful cocktails I have ever created,” Peters explains. I can’t wait for guests to try it; I love watching people smile when they take their first taste of a new cocktail.”

The Punch Room has also added new fall selections to its small plates dining menu. Complementing the uptown nightspot’s best-selling Crispy Duck Sliders and other choices are Corn Salad Three-Ways with Sugar Snap Peas and Rooftop Tomatoes, Seared Tuna with Plum BBQ Sauce, Short Ribs with Charred Baby Carrots and Smoked Beer, Pork Belly Sticky Buns, and Salmon Truffle Dip with Capers.

Located on the 15th floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte, The Punch Room is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. While reservations are not accepted for the 37-seat Punch Room, early arrivals may queue for Friday and Saturday admittance in The Ritz-Carlton Lobby Lounge, beginning at 5:30 p.m. -- with a select portion of each evening’s seating reserved for registered guests of the hotel.
