For this year’s festival, The Ritz-Carlton, Macau has curated The Ritz-Carlton, Macau Autumn Moon Treasure Box, featuring mooncakes of the well-loved flavors presented in exceptionally exquisite boxes. Available now until October 4, 2017, this year’s seasonal treats are the best gifts for expressing gratitude and love, while reveling in the spirit of reunion together.
Recognized at the highest level for its fine craftsmanship and culinary excellence, Lai Heen at The Ritz-Carlton, Macau presents The Ritz-Carlton, Macau Autumn Moon Treasure Box for guests to revisit well-loved flavors, including “Mini Egg Custard Mooncake” and “Mini Purple Sweet Potato Mooncake with Chestnut”, both of which are expertly created to establish a perfect balance of smooth, delectable textured filling in a light and delicate pastry. The petite mooncakes are housed in individual boxes, which sit neatly in a beige chest decorated with elegant floral design. Peachy-pink peonies symbolize prosperity, nasturtiums and roses present sincerity and gratitude, with Goldfinch and European robin chirping to each other serving as a symbol of harmony and accord. The wreath forms a perfect circle, bearing a sweet resemblance with the full moon – a metaphor for unity and completeness highlighting the spirit of happiness and family reunion.
As executive chef of Lai Heen, Chef Bill Fu brings to the table the highest level of craftsmanship. Every single dish is meticulously prepared for this one night only Mid-Autumn dinner menu. The perfectly prepared starter of Brittany Blue Lobster Salad with Crispy Birch Seed, Cod Fish Fillet with Fermented Bean Paste and Chili and Simmered Bamboo Piths Stuffed with Sweet Corn and Mashed Green Pea. Chef Bill will then present guests with courses of Sautéed Wagyu Beef with Taro in Black Pepper Sauce, Braised Australian Abalone with Water Caltrop and Seasonal Vegetables, and Simmered Seasonal Vegetables with Crabmeat, Peach Purée and Silver Fish. The gastronomic experience will end on a high-note with Sago Cream with Star Fruit, Homemade Egg Yolk Mooncake and Baked Persimmon Puff. The eight-course degustation menu will be available on the day of Mid-Autumn Festival, October 4, priced at MOP 1,688* per guest.
