Seven celebrity chefs are set to be the highlight of Hainan’s gourmet calendar
Sanya, China, December 19, 2017 – The Ritz-Carlton Sanya, Yalong Bay has once again become the culinary epicenter of the Asia Pacific region for four captivating days when it hosted the third “Nothing Ordinary” Food & Beverage Festival from December 7 to 10, 2017. In a lavish celebration, the iconic beachfront resort has presented no fewer than seven international celebrity chefs from Germany, the United States, France, Persia, Turkey, Singapore and Malaysia, all converging for one of the highlights of China’s gastronomic calendar. Guests at this exclusive, interactive weekend will enjoy vivacious cooking demonstrations, tastings, dinners, pairings and unique epicurean experiences -- all presented in a relaxed island setting.
This year’s star-studded lineup welcomes a very special guest German chef Rainer Zinngrebe, Vice President Culinary & Corporate Chef for all Marriott Luxury Brands Globally, heading the global culinary innovation, strategy and execution for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, The Ritz-Carlton Reserve, St. Regis Hotels, W Hotels, JW Hotels, Luxury Collection Hotels and Bulgari Hotels & Resorts. He will be joined by Xavier Salomon, French Master Chef & Executive Chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay – one of the most iconic properties of the Ritz-Carlton portfolio in America; Persian chef Moghadam Najari, the pioneer of Persian cuisine at its best in the opulent destination of Doha – Qatar; French-American chef Laurent Pillard, renowned for restaurant Fleur in Las Vegas under the helm of America’s Top Chef official judge – Hubert Keller; culinary artist Cihan Cetinkaya, Corporate Chef of Istanbul Food and Beverage Group heading more than 19 successful restaurants and cafés including the unique “Mikla” – World’s Best 100 restaurants in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Celebrated resident chefs of The Ritz-Carlton Sanya, Yalong Bay are also joining the cook-out, including Executive Chef Simon Song, and Executive Pastry Chef Law Kean Meng, along with famed mixologists: Bastian Ciocca from Switzerland – a member of Swiss Barkeeper Union, and Andrew Ho from Hong Kong – co-founder of the first “speakeasy” cocktail bar in Gaungzhou, Hope & Sesame.

A gastronomic journey through Hainan and international cuisines, hosted by resident Executive Chef Simon Song. Priced at RMB 488 per person for full buffet and live show access. Subject to 15% service charge.
Ladies Afternoon Tea – Friday, December 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. Location: Scene Lobby Lounge
Ladies will not get satiated with this semi-buffet afternoon tea served by musclemen in elegant beach style, and complemented with a selection of international coffee blends. Priced at RMB 288 per person, subject to 15% service charge.
Wine Pairing Dinner - Friday, December 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. or from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Three of our guest chefs will join forces and deliver a six-course exclusive menu with international wine pairing. Sofia restaurant will feature chefs Simon Song, Xavier Salomon, Moghadam Najari & Law Kean Meng. Sand restaurant will feature chefs Simon Song, Rainer Zinngrebe, Cihan Cetinkaya, Laurent Pillard and Law Kean Meng. Priced at RMB 688 per person, subject to 15% service charge.
Chinese Opera Tea Show - Saturday, December 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. Location: Scene
An elegant afternoon tea, served in lavish semi-buffet style, and complemented by a mesmerizing Chinese Opera live show. Priced at RMB 288 per person, subject to 15% service charge.

A massive cookout featuring all-star chefs and using world-class ingredients, with over twenty labels of premium wines. Priced at RMB 688 per person for full buffet and live show access. Subject to 15% service charge.
Pool Brunch - Sunday, December 10, from 12 to 4 p.m. Location: Main Pool
Relish in this feast for the senses, to be enjoyed with your feet in the water, accompanied with live band and sexy DJ show. Priced at RMB 388 per person, subject to 15% service charge.
