SHANGHAI, CHINA, April 11, 2016 – After the overwhelming success of Smile Asia Week in 2015, The Ritz-Carlton hotels of Asia Pacific will run the program to raise funds for The Smile Mission for a second year. Smile Asia Week cake, the specially crafted cake will be sold to raise funds for Future Smile in China, the partner of which is Operation Smile, the international medical charity which provides children with cleft lips or palates a reason to smile again. From now on, the voucher of Valrhona Chocolate and Banana Cake (one pound, RMB 288 net) can be purchased from The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, and the pick-up period is from May 2-8, 2016.
The 3rd Smile Asia Week will be celebrated at 21 Ritz-Carlton hotels in Asia-Pacific. Pastry chefs of The Ritz-Carlton in each hotel designed their own recipes for the cake sale, with a focus on local tastes and preferences. In China, Hong Kong and Singapore, Valrhona Chocolate and Banana Cake was selected, reflecting the universal popularity of chocolate, which puts a smile on everyone’s faces, and banana being a flavor that appeals to children and adults alike.
To make the event more meaningful for the local community, The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong has launched #smileasiaweek campaign to share your smile on various social media platform, i.e.Wei-bo and Wechat in the forms of pictures and videos, so as to engage more to join in Asia Smile Week.
