A time travel through decades of chocolate decadence inspired by Collection Anniversaire
GODIVA, the premium Belgian Chocolate brand celebrates its 90th birthday this year. For this momentous occasion, they will be collaborating with The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong for a very special Afternoon Tea set. Together, they will be combining the Belgian tradition of delectable chocolates and a culinary experience provided by the renowned hotel, to create a gastronomical experience for chocolate and dessert lovers alike. The GODIVA 90th Anniversary Afternoon Tea commences on April 30, 2016 and will be available until August 7, 2016 at the Scena located at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong.
The 90th Anniversary Afternoon Tea set reminisces the milestones throughout the last 9 decades of the Belgian chocolatier. Introducing the Collection Anniversaire, eight iconic pieces of chocolate and a brand new flavour to celebrate 90years will be included in the set, bringing guests on a unique time travel through the decades.
A delicious meeting of the past and present, the collection that is both sweetly nostalgic and at the cutting edge of chocolate and design innovation; is created to honour the brand’s 90th anniversary. The stunningly designed afternoon tea set menu is designed together with The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong’s Executive Chef Sandro Gamba and Executive Pastry Chef Jean-Luc, and GODIVA’s Chef Chocolatier, China and Pacific Rim, Philippe Daue, to invite guests to indulge in the heritage of GODIVA.
The GODIVA story began in 1926, when the inspirational Belgian chocolatier Pierre Draps created his very first pralines. Each creation is a precious taste of history and has its own fascinating tale to tell, interpreted into bites throughout the travel through time in each of sweet delights, starting with the Dark & White Chocolate Barquette using the signature Lady Noir, 1926, served in a chocolate tartlet shell with sacher sponge, white chocolate and
Madagascar vanilla cream, topped with dark chocolate cream.
Skipping to a few years later, the Chocolate Coffee Verrine, featuring Signature Lait, 1939, presents a moist sponge cake topped with milk chocolate chantilly, milk chocolate jelly, and coffee cremeux.
Featured Noblesse, 1959, the Hazelnut Milk Chocolate Dacquoise,uses a vanilla tartlet shell filled with hazelnut Dacquoise, milk chocolate Chantilly and crispy praline feuilletine, transports you back in time to the elegant 50s.
GODIVA is unstoppable at this point, celebrating a proud year, being appointed by the Royal Court of Belgium as their official Chocolatier, the Chocolate Caramel Cupcake represents, headlining this treat with the Ecusson,1968, a chocolate cupcake is created, garnished with caramel cremeux and milk chocolate disk.
Honouring GODIVA’s Belgian heritage and tradition of fine handcraftsmanship, this afternoon tea set is complemented with a refreshing Raspberry Chocolate Chips Scones, inspired by this year’s brand new creation, Egérie Noir.
Together with Godiva Chocolate Drink and Raspberry Rose White Chocolate Frappé, this afternoon tea set leads you into a journey of pure indulgence.
