SHANGHAI, CHINA – 1 August 2016 – At The Ritz-Carlton, we have built a legacy of extraordinary service. This tradition extends to our Community Footprints program and inspires us to positively impact the lives of others. Every contribution we make is an opportunity to leave an imprint on our communities. It is through this collection of imprints that we make a meaningful difference.

We are excited to introduce the Impact Experiences program for group guests, offering activities that enable participants to make a meaningful contribution to the local community. Over the past year, we have been assessing the growing interest from consumers in being educated and inspired by our company’s commitment to social good and sustainability through Community Footprints. In particular, we have been hearing from meeting planners that they want to see a range of activities that help their respective groups make a positive contribution and that can also be integrated into their meeting schedules. This led to the creation of Impact Experiences for group guests, inspiring opportunities in the community or incorporated into lunch breaks, coffee breaks and receptions.

Impact Experiences will open the door for us to engage and inspire meeting planners about Community Footprints. In this program, meeting planners can select from either an off-property volunteer project or a series of on-property activities that can be tailored to their schedule. These offerings can be customized to meet the needs and schedule of the group, and will benefit a Community Footprints partner organization or local organization of their choice. Since group itineraries are usually time-constrained, all of the activities can be completed within two hours. The latest offering has guests working in teams to assemble CARE KITS in backpacks, which include masks, gloves, hand cream and sunscreen, for donation to local municipal cleaners who work throughout the year in the streets to keep the environment we live in clean and tidy. Guests can also design and create their own greeting cards and distribute these cards with the CARE KITS by themselves to the cleaners in the streets.

For off-property activities, a group volunteer concept that links to a unique aspect of the destination is offered to all group guests. The guests can pay a visit to the “YOU & ME” Handicapped Talent Development Center in the local community. Guests can choose to join different classes such as handcrafting, handbag or mouse pad painting, planting, etc. and enjoy some meaningful time with the talents at the center. All artworks created by both the guests and the talents will be offered for sale on a special website, and all revenues generated will be donated to the center to help more handicapped talents in the community. In the end, the guests can also invite the talents from the center for a tour of the local museum or a popular park, for them to appreciate the beauty of the destination.
