Shanghai, China – May, 2018 – Stockton, a luxurious restaurant-modelled bar located in a secluded Lan Kwai Fong lane in Hong Kong, rated #8 in 2017 Asia’s Top 50 Best Bars, will feature its pop up bar this June at The Ritz Bar & Lounge in The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai as part of the hotel’s Movers & Shakers guest bartending series. Mixologist Suraj Gurung, a passionate rum lover, has risen to the top of the game at the hidden gem known as Stockton. In 2017, he curated the new cocktail menu ‘Minds Undone’ at Stockton, which pays homage to great writers of our time. Suraj will be presenting five delightful concoctions in the pop up bar, each highlighting famous storytellers, poets and journalists and iconic artists from 6 to 9 June. He will also serve his signature cocktails with a touch of islander influence at the cocktail station during the Sunday Brunch Session at Portman’s Restaurant on 10 June.
About Suraj Gurung Suraj came to Hong Kong with a dream of making it in one of the most exciting culinary cities in the world. He loves bringing his signature culinary flair with a touch of islander influence to his cocktail craft. Suraj joined Maximal Concepts in 2011 at the multi-award winning restaurant – Blue·Butcher & Meat Specialist, where he started realized his passion and ambition for bartending. In 2013, he was named as the “Most Lethal Mixologist” at the Foodie Forks Awards. Since then Suraj has overseen multiple beverage programs as Group Mixologist.
