The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland Changes Up How We Start the Day
CLEVELAND, OHIO – December 15, 2017 – Downtown dining has changed with the opening of TURN at The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland, and the restaurant’s breakfast experience noticeably proves the point. Located on the hotel’s recently transformed Lobby level, TURN was designed to be a flexible, social dining space, and its breakfast-time Steel Yourself option lets diners sample the city’s enticing neighborhood cuisines in a special new morning context.
Here are five breakfast innovations introduced by TURN.
The restaurant is a nod to Cleveland’s steel-working industry, so a hearty morning breakfast was a must for the menu. The Steel Yourself breakfast offering includes steel-cut oatmeal which can be flavored with a variety of warmed milks, from almond to soy, two-percent and more. The oatmeal is also served with Family Tree Farms apple compote, as well as bananas, raisins and brown sugar.
Cleveland’s robust neighborhood cuisine now can be savored at sun-up, as the TURN breakfast menu offers “The Hungary,” featuring poached egg with local Dohar paprika sausage and gravy. Also available: “Goulash for Breakfast” made with cattleman’s goulash and lángos, plus crème fraîche, farmer’s cheese and egg up.
Since many travelers know in advance what they want for breakfast, and that means eggs, the restaurant offers “Farm Fresh Eggs – Don’t Apologize.” Guests can name their pleasure and enjoy their choice of egg preparation served with grilled asparagus and heirloom potatoes. Egg white frittata is also an early favorite among hotel guests, while popular breakfast skillets of paprika bacon and local sausages provide hearty side options.
The restaurant’s signature morning carb is its flavorful Carrot Cake Pancake, presented with cream cheese, walnuts and Ohio maple syrup. Further pancake and French toast/bread options are also on the menu.
Smoothies are a major beverage offering at The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland – both at TURN and in the hotel’s new Core Fitness Center. The restaurant breakfast menu features a choice of smoothies and enhancements while, also on the fresh produce side, the flavorful Vegan Cast Iron dish features kale, onion, cherry tomato, tempeh, edamame and jack fruit.
“This is a fun and fascinating approach to hotel breakfasts,” said chefs Richard Arnoldi and Josh Nahm. “You can enjoy not only standard breakfast fare, light options and creative eggs, but also a truly hearty sampling of Cleveland’s neighborhood cuisines – without ever having to leave the building. We’re already seeing a resulting increase in business breakfast meetings, and in breakfast-time social gatherings among those who live or work downtown.”
TURN Bar + Kitchen is open daily for breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is located on the sixth-floor of the newly renovated Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland at 1515 West Third Street.
