The first total eclipse visible only in the USA since 1776 will grace the skies of Avon, Coloradothis summer

BEAVER CREEK, Colo. (August 1, 2017) – The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch – a luxuriousretreat perched in the midst of the majestic Rocky Mountains – will be offering guests and localsan unparalleled opportunity to catch a glimpse of the rare total solar eclipse visible throughoutthe skies on Monday, August 21, 2017. Beginning in Lincoln City, Oregon at approximately11:15 a.m. MST and ending near Charleston, South Carolina at 12:48 p.m. MST, the ‘GreatAmerican Eclipse’ will be clearly visible over the resort, which is proposed in over 90% path oftotality. The first total eclipse visible only in the USA since the country’s founding in 1776,Avon, Colorado – home of Beaver Creek Mountain – is one of just five cities across the nationthat will be treated to some of the most spectacular views of this unusual natural phenomenon.

Recreation Programs
Ritz Kids will be hosting a special craft session at 10:30 a.m. by making a personal pinholecamera for an extra special way to view the eclipse. Along with the daily guided hike offered aspart of the resort’s Naturalist Program, The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch will be hosting aspecial activity before and during the time of the eclipse to learn fascinating facts not only aboutthe skies, but the local plants and animals that thrive during Colorado’s beautiful summermonths. The Resort’s Great Lawn and Mountainside Terrace are perfectly positioned to view theeclipse with the special viewing glasses.

MassageInspired by the surrounding beauty and anchored around the region’s most natural ingredients,The Ritz-Carlton Spa will be joining the festivities as well. Specialty Cocktail & Mocktail
Served throughout the resort’s dining outlets on Monday, August 21st, guests can commemoratethis historic natural phenomenon with a menu of specialty cocktails developed by the Resort’sexpert mixologists. The Total Eclipse is coconut rum based and shaken with Jägermeisterpineapple juice, the Blue Moon, a Grey Goose Oranj-based mixed with blue curacao and Contreau and the Solar Flare is not to be missed with a homemade blueberry vodka and simplesyrup.

In the evening, once the eclipse has passed, guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch candelight guided sunset strolls which are offered in the warmer months. Stargazing &Snowshoeing, a winter favorite, is offered throughout the snowy months, where an expertResident Naturalist takes adventure-seekers through an enlightening experience as they teachthem about celestial navigation and point out key stars, planets, and constellations.
