DALLAS, Texas – October 20, 2017 – On Monday, November 6, Fearing’s will cap off its first year of Live Oak Sessions – the restaurant’s popular event series combining food, drink, entertainment and conversation, with a spirited tribute to Texas films.
The flavorful evening of food, wine, film and fun is called Best of Texas, Wine and Film -- and it is part 2 of last spring’s sold-out Live Oak Session led by Dallas favorites Gary and Hayley Cogill.
Pairing films made in Texas with Texas wines, wines with Texas connections, and great tastes from Fearing’s, this entertainment lovers’ event will again be led by the Cogills -- hosts of the popular podcast "Cogill Wine & Film, A Perfect Pairing" on reVolver Podcasts, and partners in Cogill Consulting. The event will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will include an interactive discussion of some of the best films made throughout the state of Texas, matching up each region with a different wine from around the state, or from wineries and winemakers with Texas connections.
Those in attendance will enjoy film clips, wine tastes and a generous menu of Fearing’s bites to include the following:
Lump Gulf Crab, Blue Corn Tostada with Avocado Mousse
Paired with McPherson Cellars Roussanne Reserve 2015, Texas
Barbecue Bacon-Wrapped Bobwhite Quail with Jalapeño Ranch
Paired with Becker Vineyards Mourvedre Rose 2015, Texas
Braised Texas Wagyu Short Rib Tamales with Fiesta Salad
Paired with McPherson Cellars Tre Colore Red Blend 2014, Texas
Chocolate Pecan Pies
Paired with Rare Wine Co. Bual Madeira, Portugal NV
Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets early for this special event, and to plan on enjoying a great party on Fearing’s Live Oak Patio, alongside the engaging Cogill team. In addition to producing their well-known podcast, Gary Cogill is an Emmy award winning journalist and film critic, and Hayley Cogill is a Certified Sommelier, wine and spirits writer for D Magazine, and founder of Dallas Uncorked. Together, they are the perfect pairing.
