Dubai, UAE, March 4, 2015 – Monday March 16, 2015 will see the return of 'Art After Dark' the official after-party for Art Nights, the popular festival of art, design, music and cuisine hosted in DIFC’s Gate Village. A long-term partner of Art Nights, The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC will play host to the party, extending the creative theme over the walkway and onto the sprawling terrace of No.5 Lounge & Bar, with a live show from popular graffiti crew ‘For Whatever Cause’ (FWC).
FWC are a crew of the UAE’s most respected graffiti artists, and an integral part of its street art scene, having been involved in recent high profile community projects as a crew or individual members, such as ‘Street Nights’ and ‘Rehlatna’, the initiative from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as part of last year’s National Day celebrations, to create the world’s largest graffiti scroll. FWC will conduct live graffiti for guests to the party, as well as exhibiting some of their most recent works. Music will come from Break DJ Lobito, Resident DJ for No.5 Lounge & Bar and Art Nights, and a leading authority in vinyl culture, turntablism, b-boying and street art in the region.
The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC has been involved with Art Nights since 2011, and as well as hosting the official after-party, will also be involved with the festival as the official food and beverage partner. This time around, its talented chefs will conduct live food art demonstrations, including decorating a giant canvas with cookies, candies and desserts, which visitors will be able to enjoy, along with a variety of savory canapés, normally only available as part of the hotel’s luxury event catering service, ‘Artful Dining’.
The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC has a wider affinity with Dubai’s arts scene, with over 130 pieces of art on display in the hotel, as well as an ongoing partnership with Opera Gallery, which sees the DIFC gallery loan the hotel pieces of art on a quarterly basis.
Art Nights will take place in Gate Village, DIFC on Monday 16th March 2015, 7pm-10pm.
