Dubai’s Only Belgian Grand Café Hosts Special Dinner Series with Acclaimed Belgian Chef and Launches a New Spring Menu
Dubai, UAE, April 24, 2016 - Cafe Belge, the Belgian Grand Café located at The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC, has an exciting spring line-up ahead, including a guest appearance from Michelin-starred Belgian Chef Roger van Damme and a refreshing new menu.

The Award-winning chef, TV personality and author Roger van Damme, of Antwerp’s Michelin-starred restaurant ‘Het Gerbaar’, will host a series of evenings at Café Belge next month, providing diners with a unique opportunity to sample his renowned cuisine.
The innovative patissier - widely regarded as the king of desserts and the ‘godfather of molecular pastry’ - Chef Roger has created a five-course degustation menu, culminating in a celebration of the finest Belgian chocolate with one of his unforgettable desserts
He will take to the kitchen for three evenings from 2-4 May, in collaboration with Café Belge’s own culinary craftsmen, to serve a specially curated menu offering a celebration of quintessential Belgian cuisine and ingredients with a contemporary twist. Priced at AED 450 per person, the five-course degustation menu starts with an amuse bouche of pearl of foie gras, razor clams filled with hand-beaded couscous and croque madame, followed by a creative assorted tomato preparations for the first course. Second course offer a delightful tartare of Bluefin tuna, followed by a choice of tantalizing turbot with lobster or tournedos of beef tenderloin with mushrooms for main course. The menu ends on a high note with a delicately presented yet richly flavored Belgian chocolate mousse with citrus, mango and passion fruit coulis for dessert.
New Spring/Summer menu
As the European spring-time arrives in Belgium, the menu at Café Belge takes a seasonal turn with the introduction of a selection of new dishes, each offering a light touch and delicate flavors becoming of this time of year. Tempting new dishes such as fresh Chicken & Baby Cos Salad, crispy Leffe Brune Fried Oysters, succulent Shellfish Gratin and baked Fillet of Cod Flemish Style can be enjoyed alongside the restaurant’s all-time favorite dishes, such as Fois Gras Waffle, Asparagus a la Flamande and Whole Roasted Dover Sole. The show-stopping seafood and oyster platters and variety of moules remain unchanged and as perfect to share as ever, alongside Café Belge’s signature frites, served with Belgian mayonnaise.
For the perfect end to the meal, indulge in a choice of richly flavored desserts, with appealing new options for spring including creamy Cinnamon Rice pudding, Raspberry Poached Pear and warm Fried Apple Pie.
