A Contemporary Taste of Arabia Awaits Guests during the Holy Month

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, 08 June 2014 – The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre will present guests with a host of unique Ramadan experiences during the forthcoming Holy Month, fusing the traditional with the contemporary. The DIFC hotel’s luxurious Iftar and Sohour will provide a lively yet relaxed ambience within a modern Arabian setting, whilst its team of talented chefs will serve classic Arabian fare, alongside some Middle Eastern favorites with an innovative twist.

Iftar in The Ramadan Majlis
The luxury Dubai hotel’s ballroom will be transformed into a lavish Ramadan majlis, where a sumptuous Iftar buffet will be served. White leather chairs and sofas will provide a contemporary touch, whilst an array of private majlis and a musical duo playing soothing Ramadan music will ensure a traditional Arabian feel.

Culinary Craftsmanship
The Iftar buffet will offer a wide selection of hot and cold mezze, salads, seafood, grills, and a dessert buffet including an array of desserts, dates and Arabic sweets. The real highlights will come in the form of the 12 live cooking stations, where The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC’s chefs will showcase their creative flair. Following the successful introduction of Arabic Sushi to last year’s Iftar, which saw the team combining nigiri, maki and temaki sushi with Middle Eastern flavors, the chefs have evolved the concept further to include new fillings, such as the Lamb Shawarma, Hammour, and Shish Kebab Rolls. Further innovation will come from the Hummus Fountain, where guests will be able to dip pitta bread, falafel and stuffed olives into the flowing hummus, and the equally unique Falafel Waffle station, where guests can choose from an array of condiments to complement their waffle.

Sohour in The Sunken Garden
An à la carte Sohour will be served daily in The Sunken Garden, offering a range of Middle Eastern cuisine, along with a menu of over 30 flavors of shisha, table seating or private majlis, and live musical entertainment. Surrounded by a serene landscape of palm trees and a dramatic water fountain, the magical garden remains cool throughout the summer due to its low-level positioning and air conditioning, providing a unique al fresco setting for guests this Ramadan,

Traditional Arabic drinks such as Jallab (pine nuts on crushed ice), and Sahlab (hot beverage with labneh, nuts and raisins), will be available for Iftar and Sohour, alongside a selection of Arabic coffee, Turkish coffee and Moroccan tea.
