Dubai, UAE, April 26, 2015 - Cafe Belge, the Belgian Grand Café located at The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC, has an exciting Spring line-up ahead, with a guest appearance from two-Michelin-starred Belgian Chef Yves Mattagne, as well as a new sharing-style menu, and the launch of a daily happy hour.

The celebrated Belgian Chef, Yves Mattagne of Brusells’ two Michelin-starred restaurant ‘Sea Grill’, will host a series of evenings at Café Belge, providing diners with a unique opportunity to sample his renowned cuisine. With a heavy focus on seafood, Chef Yves has created a five-course degustation menu, as well as a series of a la carte dishes, to provide guests with maximum flexibility and the option to choose how they enjoy his cuisine. He will take to the kitchen for three evenings from 11-13 May, serving dishes including hand peeled shrimps with white asparagus from Malines, Jura wine emulsion, morels, comte cheese and chervil, as well as Sole ‘from our Coast’ with oyster, verbena, yuzu mouseline and soya beans.
A New Menu to Share
The menu has been redesigned to provide increased flexibility for guests, with the option to order a variety of small or large plates to share, rather than a traditional two or three course a la carte menu format. Many of the restaurant’s most popular dishes remain, including its Fois Gras Waffle, Beef Short Rib Cromesquis, Asparagus a la Flamande, Whole Roasted Dover Sole and Filet Americaine, whilst a number of new dishes have been added to the menu, including the likes of Seared Sea Bass with red chard, fennel chutney and lemon, and Lobster Fricassee with braised Belgian endives.
Desserts can also be served in a sharing format, meaning guests no longer have the difficult selection of choosing one delicious dessert, but can share the likes of mouth-watering warm Dame Blanche or Baked Apple & Rhubarb with speculoos crumble, and indulge in more than one of the four styles of Belgian waffles. The show-stopping seafood and oyster platters and variety of moules remain unchanged and as perfect to share as ever, alongside Café Belge’s signature frites, served with Belgian mayonnaise.
A Very Happy Hour
In the evenings between 6 p.m.-8 p.m., guests can now enjoy an extended ‘Happy Hour’, receiving a complimentary second beverage when choosing from a selection of Belgium’s finest beers or a changing choice of cocktails, available from the sweeping wooden indoor bar, or outside on the terrace.
The Café Belge sharing brunch also continues every Friday, 12.30pm-4.30pm, with a live saxophonist and DJ, as well as the weekday Business Lunch, offered 12pm-2.30pm, with new dishes daily, and An Evening of Jazz every Tuesday on the terrace, with live music from ‘Jazz par Trois’.
