ISTANBUL, TURKEY — January 15, 2014 — The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul has been internationally recognised by readers of the highly influential magazine Travel+Leisure.

For the third year, readers of the prestigious publication voted The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul onto Travel+Leisure’s 2014 list of the world’s best 500 hotels and named it as one of the top five best hotel experiences in Turkey.

The hotel also took pride of place in Travel+Leisure’s list of the best hotels in Europe with the magazine praising the hotel’s stunning views of the historic Bosphorus and Golden Horn as well as its “prime location that provides easy access (often by foot) to many of Istanbul’s main attractions and incredible nightlife”.

Also given special mention were the hotel’s Ottoman-inspired rooms and suites, 2,403 square metres of meeting space, on-site Turkish hamam, indoor pool and luxurious outdoor spa terrace.

Travel+Leisure readers are discerning, well-travelled and familiar with exceptional levels of service so this is wonderful recognition for The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul,” said General Manager Massimiliano Zanardi.

“Everyone at the hotel is dedicated to ensuring our Ladies and Gentlemen enjoy unique, memorable and personal experiences that stay with them for life and this international recognition is a tribute to their dedication to genuine care and traditional Turkish hospitality.”

Readers of Travel+Leisure are asked every year to “cast their votes for the hotels that define the very best in travel” and points are awarded on criteria that include rooms, facilities, location, service and restaurants. “The resulting list is not only a go-to hotel resource for planning your next trip, but also reveals the destinations that are important now,” says the magazine.

“Authentic memorable experiences are a hallmark of The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul whether it is the perfect shoeshine in the lobby, a traditional hamam in our spa or a relaxing afternoon on our terrace soaking up the unforgettable Bosphorus view,” said General Manager Massimiliano Zanardi. “So we are delighted to receive recognition from such a prestigious international magazine.”
