Moscow, Russia — December 01, 2015 — The Presidential Suite at The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow, is 2,590 square feet of pure comfort and luxury. Located on the top floor of the hotel, this premium suite features floor to ceiling windows facing the Kremlin, Red Square, St. Basil’s Cathedral and the Christ the Saviour Cathedral. Classic furnishings exude the Russian imperial style and are discretely enhanced by an array of modern conveniences. The renovation of the suite was superbly done by an Italian design bureau ALBUM Interior that managed to find the balance between the classic aristocratic look that The Ritz-Carlton is renowned for and the comfortable ambience of a luxury apartment.

The designer Umberto Branchini drew inspiration from the neoclassical style that was very popular in The Russian Empire at the turn of the 20th century. This interior style was re-interpreted by using contemporary decoration materials such as carpeting, textile, soft-coloured wallpapers and furniture items when combined create a warm and highly comfortable ambience in a classic setting.

Ivory colouring with gilded elements on the various wooden elements of the suite were carefully restored to give the traditional regal Russia feel. Clever lighting has been created to achieve warmth and a luminous environment by combining modern LED lighting with vintage style light fixtures and a truly exquisite chandelier made from intricate Moreno glass pieces. The lighting fusion accentuates the luxurious textile of the curtains and highlights the delicately gilded elements of the ceiling.

In the private office area, the dark cherry wood panelling is complimented by the new silk purple chairs with a geometrical design. The same charming combination of colours is used in the generously lit dressing room with an elegant banquette accompanied by silk purple pillow stands and a full-length mirror with a matching dark cherry wood frame. The living room invites you to relax with a comfortable deep-olive silk textile sofa and chairs while enjoying the mesmerizing views of the Red Square and the Kremlin. The formal dining area with seating for six people has received new crafted chairs with colourful upholstery, ideal for a business or social event. In the bedroom there are modern comfortable armchairs and a chaise longue covered with soft sheepskin. Treasured existing furniture items – such as the customary tables were delicately restored while the parquet and carpeting were transformed.

Unique interior elements such as the gilded banquette upholstered with animal-print textile, carved & gilded Baroque in style bedhead, decorative curtain tiebacks from Venetian brocade brings an individual feeling to the classic interior. Wall panels were covered in Jacquard textile in the beige and soft-brown colours that harmonize with the existing art pieces in classic crafted frames.

There’s an array of modern conveniences available for the guests of the Presidential Suite to enjoy such as a 42-inch flat screen TV, top-of-the-range stereo systems, Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin & Z2 music systems as well as high-speed WiFi and LAN internet access – adding convenient and distinct touches.
