Sintra – May 19, 2017 – Children from Portugal’s charitable O Século Foundation recently enjoyed an afternoon of exciting activities and delicious treats at Penha Longa Resort.

More than 30 children from the foundation aged from six to 16 were invited to the resort to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of bouncing on trampolines, playing rounds of mini-golf and racing around the resort’s newly refurbished playground. The activities were followed by a special treat of tea, a selection of fresh fruit juices, finger sandwiches, popcorn and plenty of cake.

“We have regularly supported the O Século foundation through our Christmas ‘make a wish come true’ events and we decided it was time they came to the resort to enjoy a sunny afternoon of fun,” said General Manager David Martinez.

O Século is a Portuguese non-profit organisation that offers specialised care to hundreds of youngsters in need every day. The foundation also provides kindergarten and pre-school facilities as well as family support and social services. The key aim of O Século is to create better life opportunities for all the youngsters in its care.

“I’m very proud of how everyone at Penha Longa worked so hard to ensure it was an afternoon that the children will remember for a long time to come,” said Mr. Martinez. “Penha Longa has always been about sharing unforgettable memories and the children certainly enjoyed themselves.”
