Vienna, January 2018 – Franz Wilhelm Pichler is now joining the team of Executive Chef Andreas Mahl at The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna, as Executive Sous Chef. The 32-year-old was last employed in the same position at the Hotel Le Grand Bellevue at Gstaad.
Born in Villach, Franz Wilhelm Pichler can show an impressive career and has gained extensive international experience over the last years. His stations include renowned companies such as the three starred Victor's FINE DINING by Christian Bau in Perl-Nennig, Anne-Sophie Pic in Valence and the Schwarzwaldstube at Baiersbronn. In particular, he is fond of Switzerland, as shown by his stations at the Hotel Bellevue Palace in Bern, the Hotel Guarder Val in Scuol, the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof and the Suvretta House in St. Moritz. He laid the necessary foundations with his training as a cook and waiter, which he completed at the Tourismusschule Oberwollanig, in the restaurant Kuchler in Villach as well as the Thermen Hotel Ronacher in Bad Kleinkirchheim.
At The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna, Franz Pichler will support Andreas Mahl in leading a diverse culinary portfolio. These include the Dstrikt Steakhouse with Schanigarten directly alongside the Schubertring, the Melounge Lobby Lounge, the Atmosphere Rooftop Bar and The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge.
