How do we obtain a Florida Marriage License?
A Florida Marriage License can be obtained through any Florida Clerk of the Court office. Couples must present a social security number and one of the following: valid driver’s license, certified copy of a birth certificate, passport, or military identification. If either or both of you are divorced, a date of the prior marriage ending is required. At the time of application, couples must read the handbook provided by the Clerk and sign a statement of completion. The cost for the license is $93.50 unless a pre-marital preparation course is completed at least 12 months prior to the application, in which the license fee is then $32.50. For in state residents, a three day waiting period is required before the license is valid. For out of state residents, no waiting period is required.
